We arrived at midday and had a look round the city. The middle of town still has the old US airbase, now unused. Beaches look lovely. Interesting the number of Russian Tourists around the place.
We saw the Long Son Pagoda, crossed the Xom Bong Bridge to look at the fishing village, saw the 7th C (to 12th C) Cham Towers. Finally, we visited the Dam Market. We also walked up to see the old French Cathedral.
We left port at 6 PM, leaving under the suspended cars of the overhead cable car to the Island adjacent, Balmoral had to lower the mast to fit! Next stop is Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City ……
