Rocky Mountaineer train

At the station and waiting to go at 7.30 am. Then by train to Kamloops. Saw lots of wildlife on the way.

We arrived in the Plaza Hotel for an overnight stay - ate in their Restaurant.

Laundry and other exciting things today. Still raining but clearing up towards the evening.

Went to the Banana Leaf for some Malay food in the evening opposite the Hotel.

Wet today! Up a bit late for our breakfast then a trip to the waterfront on the underground. A bit drier down below ground!

We took the red tram route and saw lots, including Granville Island (enjoyed by Helen Granville!)

Vancouver - arrival and touring

Arrived very early in the morning after our last night on the boat with a view of the bridge at the mouth of the harbour.

We then went to the Holiday Inn to drop off the luggage by taxi, and then left on the metro (Canada Line) to the Waterfront. After strolling around we took the trolley bus green tour around Stanley park - and then had a late lunch in the food court nearby Canada Place. Vegetable Chilli and Chicken and rice.

Back to the Hotel to check in by 3pm. We have a nice corner room with a view.

Arrived at 9am into port. We took the shuttle bus, walked through town, went to the Information centre, visited the Totem Poles at the Royal BC Museum at Thunderbird Park.

Then a tour on the hop and and off bus for 90 minutes to see the sights. Got some $ Canadian and some Chocolates before returning to the ship!

Tracy Arm Fjord

Today we sailed up the Tracy Arm Fjord, with a double turn at the end, very narrow! A really blue glacier at the end.

We also saw whales and some mountain goats.

Arrived in port at 0700. 

We got in the steam train to the White Pass following the road on the Gold rush miners, at the top, just below 3000 feet we turned round, and got a glass of Champagne ... Spectacular views
